The second part of the journey, as Kerala Express hits 120 kmph in South Central Railway from Balharsha Jn in Maharashtra to Vijayawada Jn in Andhra Pradesh via Warangal in Telangana.

Some of the high speed and important crossings include the Bengaluru Rajdhani, Tamil Nadu SF, Telangana SF, newly introduced Andhra Pradesh SF, Patna Humsafar, and the Chennai Duronto.

A high speed crossing of both the Kerala Express is also seen in this. One can note that most of the crossings are with LHB trains and all of them are doing 120 kmph in SCR.

The Kerala Express is a daily superfast express train of the Indian Railways that runs between New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala state. The train is running with LHB rakes with effect from 4th November 2018. It is currently the longest running daily Superfast Train of Indian Railways. Rail Enthusiasts call Kerala Express as "Offlink King of Indian Railways", "The King", "King of Overtakes", "Pride of Kerala",etc.

The Kerala Express was introduced in 1977 as a split train named Kerala - Karnataka (KK) Express . The composition of Karnataka-Kerala Express has been increased from 14 coaches to 21 coaches with effect from January 29, 1981.

On June 10, 2019, during the 2019 Indian heat wave, four pilgrims from Tamil Nadu died due to heat exposure in the Kerala Express as it traveled south through the Bundelkhand, before the train arrived at Jhansi Junction.

The 12625/26 Kerala Express runs from Thiruvananthapuram via Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Balharshah, Nagpur, Bhopal,Jhansi,Agra, Mathura to New Delhi

The train 12626 leaves New Delhi at 11:25 on day 1 and reaches Trivandrum at 15:15 on day 3.It takes 51 hrs 50 mins to reach from its source to the destination.

In the opposite direction, 12625 leaves Trivandrum at 11:15 on day 1 and reaches New Delhi at 13:45 on day 3.It takes 50 hrs 30 mins to reach from its source to the destination.

Since the entire route is fully electrified, this train is hauled by a WAP 7 locomotive from Royapuram or Erode electric locomotive shed on its entire journey.
