Currently, many adult Bulgarian orphans
Currently, many adult Bulgarian orphans with special needs are living in better facilities. The purpose of this video is to show 1.) Bulgaria’s orphans never stop aching to have a mother, even as adults and 2.) to emphasize how important it is to support programs and organizations that work to prevent child abandonment from happening in the first place.

Note: this video contains segments of the 2009 BBC documentary, “Bulgaria’s Abandoned Children”, for the purpose of showing what happens to orphans with disabilities who don’t get adopted and remain in the system as adults. Footage was also used from “The Economist”. Important information about the current situation in Bulgaria, as of 2018, was also inserted in slides at the beginning and end of this video.
