Billions watched as Prince William and Harry walked beind their mother's coffin 25 years ago.
Prince William was 15 years old when his mother Princess Diana. His younger brother Harry was just 12.
The televised broadcast of Princess Diana’s funeral reached 2.5 billion people. It remains one of the most-viewed events to this day.
Some say that it was this fascination and obsession with every inch of her life that ultimately caused her death.
She died in a high-speed car accident in Paris. She was just 36 years old.
Pronounced dead at 4 am - France time - on August 31, 1997.
Shortly after midnight, her car left the Ritz hotel in Paris. Like the end of so many of the Princess’s engagements - photographers were waiting outside.
The car - carrying her and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed - was chased through the streets at high speed.
Despite the tragic end to her life, Princess Diana is remembered for so much more - including her style, grace and the two children she left behind.
