In Civil 3D, a software application widely used for civil engineering and land development projects, you can calculate the surface area of a 3D model by performing the following steps:

Launch Civil 3D and open the drawing or create a new one.
Ensure that you have created or imported a 3D surface model in your drawing. This can be done by generating a surface from point data, importing a surface from another file format, or creating a surface using other methods available in Civil 3D.
Once you have the 3D surface model in your drawing, navigate to the "Home" tab on the ribbon.
In the "Create Design" panel, click on the "Surface" drop-down menu and select "Surface Properties."
In the "Surface Properties" dialog box, select the 3D surface for which you want to calculate the surface area.
Click on the "Statistics" button within the "General" tab.
In the "Surface Statistics" dialog box, you will find various statistics related to the selected surface, including the surface area.
Locate the "Surface Area" value in the dialog box, which represents the total surface area of the 3D model.
Take note of the surface area value or copy it for further use.
By following these steps, you can easily calculate the surface area of a 3D model in Civil 3D.
