MALTA: Sliema & Balluta, St Julians
Sliema is a town located on the northeast coast of Malta. Its name is connected with the first words of the "Hail Mary" prayer, which in Maltese is "Sliem Għalik Marija". Sliem is the Maltese word meaning peace. St Julians is its neighboring town.
Bustling towns for shopping, restaurants and nightlife, Sliema and St Julians are also major commercial and residential areas and houses several of Malta's most modern hotels.
This video shows the general areas of Sliema and a glimpse of neighbouring Balluta Bay, St. Julians. It also includes some photos of vintage cars which were being exhibited while we were touring Sliema.
Sliema population is circa 20,000 and has a significant turnover of foreign expatriates who reside temporarily.
