When we hear the word Australia, of course we will remember cities like Sydney or Melbourne. But have we heard of Cocos Keeling island, a unique island belonging to Australia which is mostly inhabited by Javanese people?

Cocos Keeling Islands, divided into two, namely West Island, and Home Island. On the Home Island, most of the population is Javanese mixed Malay, so the language that is widely used is Malay. If on the West Island, mostly inhabited by Westerners, and speak English.

This island is located in the south of Indonesia, more precisely in the south of Java Island, in the Indian Ocean. Although its location is close to Indonesia, this island is still owned by Australia. To go to this island too, must pass through Australia.

Despite its remote location from Australia, the Cocos Keeling Islands are well-preserved islands. There are many health and educational facilities on these two islands.

At Cocos Keeling Islands, we can still watch soap operas and TiVi Indonesia shows. Even the songs that are listened to, are also Indonesian songs. Because in the past this island was inhabited by slaves from Java, Sabah, and Sarawak. So do not be surprised, if we will meet the arts of wayang kulit and batik.

We will rarely find a public car here. There, we will find lots of ATVs and Buggy cars as vehicles. Even though the use of these two vehicles is very different, when compared to motorbikes and cars like in Indonesia.

The beach is very charming, with clear sea water. At Cocos Keeling Island, we can swim with sharks, without fear of being bitten. In addition, there are also many fish that we can meet while snorkeling. We can even lure these fish, using a speargun. The results of the fishing rod, we can immediately burn on the beach.
