I've been trying to decide on what kind of 3-7 second intro video to start all my videos with and rendering a 3 second clip last night took 5-6 hours on my 3.4ghz A10 cpu with 16MB of cache. Not exactly a slow CPU. Using your video card to render images or animations can cut your times in half.

If your video card is not supported in blender (Check the 'System' tab in User Preferences in Blender and see if computer device lets you choose 'GPU' instead of 'CPU' then this is the video for you. It should support all recent version of Blender from 2.66 to 2.69, 2.70, 2.71 and most recently 2.72, 2.72a and 2.72b which is most current at the time of writing. Heres the commands if you missed them or cant read them, I tried up sizing my screen size (1600x900) to 1080p in this video to see what happens.

1. navigate to /blender foundation/blender/ in /program files/ with the cd command. use cd .. to go back a directory.
2. type and submit: set CYCLES_OPENCL_TEST-ALL
3. type and submit: start blender.exe   OR start Blender some other way.
