Ever since 2009, the South-South Cooperation Programme has been in force between the Government of Brazil, coordinated by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It has contributed to the promotion of decent work, erradocation of child labour and forced labour, among other issues, in several developing partner countries.

In 2023, a new phase of the Program was launched, under the theme "Social Justice for the Global South." From 2023 to 2027, actions are already planned to support the advancement and promotion of decent work and social justice through the expansion of partner countries’ capacities to develop, strengthen and integrate policies, programmes and initiatives along four axes of action
