What Happened at the End of Outlast 2?

Outlast 2 has one of the most difficult and convoluted stories that I think I've ever played in a video game, certainly the most difficult I've attempted to decipher. Two cryptic stories with many complex characters and a lot of guess work do not an easy decryption make. So today I thought that I'd tell you, based off all the research into the game that I've been doing, what I think exactly happened at the end of Outlast 2 and what it's story is trying to say. Keep in mind that a lot of this is still up for debate, I believe Red Barrels intended for it to be so, but I'll try to give the reasons that brought me to these conclusions. All that being said, let's get into it.
