Located just outside the entrance to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra, The Petra Museum is a stunning museum. Not only does it look incredible, the history and artefacts it presents are amazing. It displays Nabatean, Roman and Greek artefacts from the history of Petra and has a display on water collection, at which the Nabateans were experts. Alongside the artefacts, the history of Petra is discovered. It was opened in 2019 and is considered the New Petra Museum (there is a small museum right at the entrance). The artefacts and information date as far back as the stone age. There are 8 galleries that go in chronological order. According to the Visit Jordan website - The Petra Museum contains artefacts, dating back to different ages. The exhibition consists of five halls showing the history of Petra, information about the Nabataean’s way of life, their civilization, and even showcasing tools, statues, and many historical pieces which were discovered in Petra by archaeological excavation teams. Opened on World Heritage Day, the new Petra Museum represents the idea of showcasing the history of Petra to both scholars and tourists. #jordan #travel #jordantourism #jordantravel #petra #thepetramuseum #museum #petramuseum #petraartefacts #petraartifacts Interesting Attractions in the Museum 00:00 Introduction 00:35 Museum Map 00:47 Water Collection 01:20 Petra Historical Timeline 02:56 Oldest Artefacts 03:25 Child's Burial Chamber 05:06 Carved Statues 07:34 Nabatean Art Carving 08:15 Signs of the Zodiac Vessel 09:21 Nabatean Man 09:57 Tomb Recreations 12:27 Nabatean Legal Document 14:15 Lioness Vase 14:27 Petra Dog 14:41 Another Video You May Like
