Bridget's string history: After being terrified as a child by Maleficent using a spindle to try to kill in the animated movie “Sleeping Beauty”, I mastered my fear by teaching myself to spin at age 11, and weave soon after. I have shown children in schools and the general public at fairs how fabric is made by spinning on a 150 year old Great Walking Wheel and various types of weaving looms. I began card/tablet weaving 20 years ago, inspired by the patterns from history. Every time I learn a new skill, turned around to teach it to others.
