Water safety at the beach

As we kick off the summer season in South Florida, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Ocean Rescue wants beachgoers to stay safe when enjoying their time in the water.

Remember, if going to the beach, swim near a lifeguard station and keep an eye out for marine conditions. At every beach with a lifeguard, there are beach warning flags to let you know how conditions are in the water. These flags let you know of any risk of rip currents or marine hazards, which will help ensure your safety and the safety of those with you at the beach.
