With a CC2531 USB stick it is possible without additional gateway the SmartHome products from different manufacturers such as Philips, Xiaomi, Osram, Ikea and many more. to control.
For this you need a CC2531 Zigbee USB stick with the software CC2531ZNP-Prod.hex (current) and of course a running open source system like openHAB 2 z.b. on the Raspberry Pi 3.
