What is the Szechenyi Thermal bath like and is it a good experience? Let us show you this must visit place in Budapest! We visited the Szechenyi Thermal Bath in Budapest. The city and the country has many famous thermal baths, but this one is definately the most famous of all of them. When I was young my grandmother used to bring me here as she was a big fan of the Thermal Bath experience. But that was a long time ago and I really dont remember much, even though I live in Budapest and technically can come anytime. Today you see a lot of posts on instagram and facebook of people visiting the Szechenyi Thermal Bath, but is it really worth it coming here? From the pictures it certainly is a gorgeous complex, but does the experience live up to the hype? Let's find out! As per Wikipedia, The Széchenyi Medicinal Bath in Budapest is the largest medicinal bath in Europe. The water is supplied by two thermal springs, and their temperature is 74 °C (165 °F) and 77 °C (171 °F). Of course in the pools these waters are cooled down so us humans can also enjoy them :) Components of the thermal water include sulfate, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate and a significant amount of metaboric acid and fluoride. These are apparently healthy, not just pleasent for your body :) The other famous thermal bath in Budapest is the Gellert Thermal Bath, we have a video about that too:    • Gellert Thermal Bath | A Unique bath ...   If you liked the architecture and want to see more of Budapest then check out the following video where we explore the unique buildings of the city:    • Discovering the Amazing Architecture ...   For more videos that show the best that Budapest can offer go and check out this playlist:    • Best of Budapest   Check down below for more info and links: *********************************************************************** I'm a local youtuber born and raised in Hungary, Budapest. You can keep these in your cabinets but make sure you lock them properly with your wristband! (However please note that the Bath complex will not take responsibility for things stored in the cabinets) - Warm food is only available after 12:00, before that the kind of food available is limited. The rest that's available is less than stellar, but does the job if you are hungry - During winter the outer pools are still operational and have warmer water vs summer, this gives a much different and more unique experience (will need to come back and check that) but the indoor pools are still plenty good! In the end, is this the best Thermal Bath experience? I believe it is for everyone to decide for themselves, but it certainly is a great bath and it's reputation is great for a reason. Maybe the building could use a bit of renovation, but it is still undoubtedly one of the best experiences you may have when coming to Budapest. *********************************************************************** TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 Intro 00:33 Location and Entering 01:23 The outer pool area 03:04 Checking the inside pools 03:36 Getting food 04:45 Closing thoughts and bloopers #hungarytravel #wowhungary #visitbudapest #budapesttravel #budapest #europetravel
