All tracks were previously issued as singles in Jamaica beween 1961 (Carolina, River Jordan & Freedom) and 1965 (Pain In Me Belly & Dick Tracy). The first track on side 1 is listed on sleeve and label as Exodus, but is actually Black Sunday (first issued on an ND Records label in 1964). Ska La Parisienne differs from the single version issued on the Studio One label (matrix CN9). Dick Tracy was credited to Don Drummond on its Studio One issue (matrix CSD50) and to The Skatalites on the UK Island label.

* Carolina (credited to Count Ossie rather than Folkes Brothers) is a Prince Buster production, as are Time Longer Than Rope, Pain In Me Belly and African Blood.
