" Music is a medium to remind us of the noblest of human thoughts in most natural ways. B.V. Balasai, T. V. Ramprasadh, and Vishnu R came together to celebrate this universal song of kindness and compassion, composed by the Paramacharya of Kanchi Shri Chandrashekhara Saraswati. Always relevant in its simplicity, may this bring to us some hope and joy on this Ugadi.
"Cultivate friendship that conquers all hearts, Look upon others as thyself, renounce war and unnecessary competition. Observe restraint and show kindness. May the whole world be happy and prosperous".
" Maitrīṃ bhajata akhilahṛjjetrīm
(Win all hearts by practicing friendship..)
ātmavadeva parānapi paśyata |
(Look upon others as you look upon yourself)
yuddhaṃ tyajata spardhāṃ tyajata
(Renounce War, Renounce competitiveness)
tyajata pareṣu akramam ākramaṇam ||
(Renounce wrongful aggression on others)
jananī pṛthivī kāmadughā(ā)ste
(Mother Earth exists like the wish-fulfilling cow, she is to yield to everyone)
janako devaḥ sakaladayāluḥ |
(Our Father is the God who is compassionate to all)
dāmyata datta dayadhvaṃ janatāḥ
(Oh People of this world, Be self-restrained, Be kind, Be merciful)
śreyo bhūyāt sakalajanānām ||"
(May everyone in the whole world be joyful and prosperous)
