Every year about this time, I get quite a few questions about when folks should start their pepper seeds. I thought it was about time I do a video on the subject. The first thing you should know is when your last frost date is. Once you know your last frost date, you can then easily figure out when you should plant your pepper seeds indoors. I like to allow for at least 8 weeks of growing time before I transplant my pepper seedlings into the garden. Since peppers usually take about 14 days or so to sprout for me, that means I need to plant the seeds about 10 weeks before I plan to transplant the outside. If I want to allow for 10 weeks of growing time, I need to plant my seeds about 12 weeks before I plan to transplant them outside. Let us know how much growing time you allow for your peppers. Thanks for watching! My Nature Channel (Observing Nature): youtube.com/user/heroletters Midwest Gardener is also on Facebook and Instagram. I garden in zone 6b, in the state Kansas.
