Generally there is a doubt in between people that there is two kind of EPS which has shown in the financial results or financial statement of any company. One is the Basic EPS and other one is diluted EPS.
Basic EPS is calculated taking into the consideration of profit available for the equity shareholder during the year and the same is divided by the number of equity shares.
However, in case of Diluted EPS taking into the consideration of profit available for the equity shareholder during the year and the same is divided by the number of equity shares adding number of convertible preference shares & convertible debentures.
