Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms can occur in all types of EDS and HSD. The most common include nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, & diarrhea, vomiting, acid reflux, sluggish stomach, hernias, out-of-place organs, and prolapse, as well as functional problems such as changes in the speed of the digestive system (gut motility). POTS, dysautonomias, and mast cell activation syndrome can also affect the GI system.

President for The Ehlers-Danlos Society, Lara Bloom, speaks with Professor Qasim Aziz, and Helen Spriggs in the UK on the gastrointestinal issues seen in EDS and HSD, and investigations and management of these issues.
