The US Envoy to China, Nick Burns, has accused Beijing of either intimidating or pressuring Chinese citizens into not taking part in people-to-people engagements organised by Washington for the Chinese citizens in mainland China. According to Nick, Chinese officials have stopped at least 61 such engagements since November, 2023.
