S.H.O.T. Show 2023 revealed some models that are making people’s trigger fingers twitch with excitement. The original design hasn't changed much since the early 1900s, but with modern upgrades like the wide frame that accepts double stack mags and fancy names like the 2011 -- which, apparently, is Staccato’s trademark -- and the new 2311 -- John Browning’s magnum opus is still a breath of fresh air after 112 years.

Granted, polymer framed micro nines are everywhere and if you urgently need a handgun for anything, you should buy one of those. But die-hard 1911 fans like you and me know that nothing beats our favorite.
