If both of these conditions are true, then the printer has not initialized: The printer has never printed any pages. If the printer has printed any pages, even the alignment page that it prints at setup, then the printer is initialized. The cartridges installed in the printer are labeled SETUP or Instant Ink Ready and have never been used before.
