This module begins with a brief history of papermaking and a discussion on the types of fibers used in the production of paper products. Then, it discusses the various mechanical, chemical, and semichemical pulping processes used to separate the fibers in wood. It describes several pulp processing operations, including bleaching, and ends with a description of the various sections of a paper machine, including the forming section, press section, dryer section, and reel.
