In this short pronunciation video, I'll show you what the schwa sound is and how to pronounce it in weak forms in British English (just don't be stressed!). Plus, I'll show you why it's THE most important and most common sound in English.
Not only that but I've included a hilarious joke and you will have to see right to the end of the video to see the full joke.
Now, the schwa (cool name right?) is a very important sound and we use it a lot in British English. It's used in many different words and this complicates English a bit because one sound can have a lot of different spellings.
Firstly, it's a vowel (a monophthong - or single vowel) and it can be spelt in the following ways: a,e,i,o,u and y! However, the sound is always the same.
