The Chaplet of St. Gertrude
The Chaplet of St. Gertrude is prayed using the regular rosary beads and begins with the sam opening prayers as the Rosary. However, instead of praying Hail Mary on the smaller beads, the St. Gertrude Prayer is prayed instead.
It s believed that Jesus appeared to St. Gertrude with the promise of 1000 souls being freed from Purgatory each time the St. Gertrude is prayed. Because the St. Gertrude Prayer is prayed 50 times in the Chaplet, it would mean that 50,000 souls are released from Purgatory each time this chaplet is prayed with true devotion.
