How to Place Stop Loss on Robinhood

In today's video we’ll be learning how to place a stop loss order on the Robinhood Mobile App. We’ll also touch on the differences between the different stop types like stop market, stop limit and trailing stop.

Stop Market Order
A market order that is triggered when a stock hits a certain price.

Stop Limit Order
Like a stop market order, an order that is triggered when the stock hits a certain price. Once the stop is hit, the order becomes a limit order.

Trailing Stop Order
A trailing stop order is an order that is entered with a stop parameter that creates a moving or "trailing" activation price. As a stock's price moves, the activation price for your order will move too – allowing potentially profitable trades to run, and may help protect against a sharp pullback.
