This video provides an introduction to protein synthesis. The pathway of protein synthesis is called translation, which requires the genetic code to translate the nucleotide sequence of mRNA into amino acid sequence. Genetic code is composed of 3 nucleotide bases, known as triplet. Group of triplets called as codons. The genetic code is translated into amino acid sequence using an RNA codon table. The genetic code is characterized by, 1) is non-overlapping, 2) non-punctuated (commaless), 3) degenerated, 4) unambiguous and 5) universal.
