This is an instructional video on how to properly take apart, clean, and put back together the Beretta M92/M9 series of handguns.

The M92/M9 series of pistols came in the 1980s from the need of the U.S. Military to replace its aging inventory of 1911 pistols.  The U.S. Military called for a handgun that was chambered in the NATO 9mm cartridge, among other required features.  Beretta and other powerhouse manufacturers submitted the M92 as their official pistol to meet the needs of the U.S. Military.  Through trials and budgeting concerns, the M92, then re-branded as the M9, was adopted by all branches of the U.S. Military.  The pistol has enjoyed respectable service in many military units and law enforcement organizations all over the globe, and is still currently the standard-issue sidearm of the U.S. Military.

Taking it apart:
1)  Ensure the source of feed is removed from the gun (release the magazine)
2)  Lock the slide back and ensure the gun is completely unloaded
3)  Push in the slide release button on the right sight of the frame
4)  With it depressed, then slide the slide lock clockwise in the down position
5)  CAREFUL -PARTS UNDER PRESSURE
Carefully release the slide forward and off the frame
6)  CAREFUL -PARTS UNDER PRESSURE
Carefully pull the recoil spring away from the barrel, and pull it away from the barrel
7)  Loosen and wiggle the barrel and barrel lugs to remove the barrel out and away from the slide rearwards

Particular Mentions:
It is advisable when chambering a round for defensive use to engage the safety, chamber a round, place the weapon on fire, then holster.  Care must be taken when racking the slide quickly or during remedial action drills because the slide-mounted safety can engage if you're not careful.
