What is Reconnect?
Located on a tiny virgin island in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, Reconnect is an eco-retreat offering an authentic and immersive island experience, all while empowering local communities through high-impact social programs. The island is called Buka Buka, which means "open" in Indonesian, and is only 2km wide. Using sustainable technologies and environmental actions (transplanting corals, growing forests, permaculture..), we intend to not only preserve its nature, but to also empower it.
The idea is simple.
We offer you to live a remote island experience, with all the nice features you already imagine (snorkeling, kayaking, drinking coconuts..). You will also really be part of the day-to-day life of the island, learning from the locals and helping us maintaining and improving the place in the most sustainable way possible
You will find there all the comfort you need, whether you decide to stay in a glamping tent or a luxury bungalow. But it won’t be a 5-star beach resort experience, where all you can do is to lay down on a sun bed and look at locals serving you.
We are doing our best for Reconnect to be all about sharing, caring and learning from each other.
