Our video explains what happens in a videofluoroscopy swallow study. When a child has problems swallowing food or experiences choking or aspiration, the doctors or the Speech and Language Therapist can ask for a videofluoroscopy swallow study. The child is asked to eat or drink food with barium. It is an X-ray study of the swallow.
The What? Why? Children in Hospital charity makes videos to help families prepare for hospital.
