State of eThekwini that new mayor will inherit

The eThekwini municipal council is expected to elect a new mayor on Wednesday after Mxolisi Kaunda was deployed to the National Council of Provinces.

One of the major challenges in the city is the quality of water sources and rivers.

Last year several beaches were closed due to sewage spills. Newzroom Afrika's Karinda Jagmohan is at the Umbilo River.
