Beijing road is a street integrating culture, entertainment and Commerce in Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. It is located in the center of Guangzhou city. It is the beginning of urban construction in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is also the most prosperous commercial distribution center in the history of Guangzhou city. The average daily flow of people is about 400000, and it reaches more than 600000 on holidays, with a peak value of millions.
Beijing road starts from Guangwei road in the north and ends at Yanjiang middle road in the south, with a total length of more than 1450 meters. Beijing Road commercial pedestrian street is a group of shops extending from the intersection of Zhongshan Fourth Road and Beijing Road to all directions, starting from cangbian road in the East, uprising road in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China in the west, Caiting front in the north, Daxin road in the South and Gaodi street in the South. From February 8, 1997 to January 1, 2002, the pedestrian street began to implement quasi walking every weekend. After five times of expansion, the length of Beijing Road Pedestrian Street has exceeded 1000 meters. The surrounding scenic spots include Nanyue Palace Museum, Guangzhou Great Buddha Temple, etc.
The old Beijing road was a main north-south street inside and outside Guangzhou's dananmen (now Beijing Road, Danan intersection). After the Southern Han Dynasty was destroyed in the Song Dynasty, the southern city wall was demolished and the southern city was built along the river. In 1244, shuangmenlou was built. From then on, the middle section of Beijing road was called shuangmendi and gradually became a business district. In the Qing Dynasty, the routes from north to south of Beijing today are chengxuanzhi street, shuangmendi street, xiongzhenzhi street and Yongqing street, which are famous for bookstores, antique markets and flower markets. In the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, the Pearl River, where Beijing Road and Yanjiang Road meet, is the location of Tianzi wharf. It was specially set up to meet and see off officials in the Qing Dynasty. The nearby official reception Pavilion is the place to meet officials at that time.
