Answering Difficult Questions: Does God Change His Mind?
There are Scriptures that say God doesn't change His Mind. There are Scriptures that say He changed His mind. This is a hard topic. If you just dismiss the idea and say 'No, He doesn't change' then how do you deal with God telling Jonah He would destroy Nineveh and yet, He didn't? What about when He said He would not go with Israel in the wilderness after the golden calf incident...and yet He did? Some translations flat out say "He changed his mind". Sermons have been preached about "The Day God Changed His Mind".
What about the difficult topic of deathbed repentance? Scriptures indicate that baptism is a requirement but the thief wasn't baptized and he was told he would be in Paradise. These LOOK like contradictions and need to be addressed.
I believe we can harmonize Scripture from front to back with two important Truths about God's character that allow for these situations to be explained without contradiction. This is important for every Believer to understand and be able to explain to scoffers and liberal "Christians" alike.
