RAF Air Cadet Maksim Ferguson has become the youngest person in RAF history to receive his wings at the tender age of 14.
The teenager, first took an interest in flying planes when he was just starting school, received civilian wings two years earlier than most.
“I started flying with my dad when I was about five,” he said.
“He started taking me up because he had his PPR and when I was about eight I started taking lessons at flying school and recently when I was about 12 or 13 my instructor told me I could fly solo but couldn’t in the UK because of the law.”
Maksim travelled to Canada in April 2019 and completed his first solo flight, becoming the youngest Brit to fly a powered aircraft solo.
