Okhai daal:
Ingredients
Split yellow gram ½ cup
Split red lentil ½ cup
Split Bengal gram ½ cup
Salt 1 ½ tsp
Chili powder 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric ½ tsp
Oil ¼ cup
Butter ¼ cup
Chopped spinach ½ cup
Chopped dill ½ bunch
Chopped fenugreek 3 bunches
Chopped onion 1 cup
Bottle ground 250 gm
Chopped tomatoes 2
Chopped ginger 1 tbsp
Chopped green chilies 3-4
Raw mangoes ¼ cup
Stock cubes 1
Salt ½ tsp
Chili powder ½ tsp
Papadum 3-4
Oil for frying
Water 2 cups
Ingredients for tempering
Clarified butter ¼ cup
Curry leaves 15
Cumin seeds 1 ½ tsp
Whole red chilies 3
Lemon juice ¼ cup
Method
• Soak all the 3 pulses for 2 hour.
• Then put it in a pan for boiling with some salt, chili powder, turmeric, oil till pulses turn tender.
• Then add in all the vegetables with 2 cups water, stock cube, and cook till vegetables tender.
• Lastly add the tempered ingredients on top.
