Chandranath Pahar is located four kilometers east of Sitakunda Bazar in Chittagong. Chandana Hill is on the east side of Sitakunda and the sea is on the west. According to history, a king of Nepal was inspired by a dream to build five Shiva temples, five times the size of the world. These are Pashupatinath in Nepal, Vishwanath in Kashi, Bhutanath in Pakistan, Adinath in Maheshkhali and Chandranath Temple in Sitakunda, Chittagong. According to ancient scriptures and history, Maha Mani Bhar used to live here in Janaja, Ramachandra, the son of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya, came here during his exile and created three pools for them to bathe when he learned that they would come and his wife Sita bathed in this pool during Ramachandra's visit, hence the name Sitakunda. This Chandranath temple is situated on the Chandranath Hill near Sitakunda in Bangladesh.This Chandranath temple is very famous Shaktipeeth Sitakunda is a beautiful natural beauty spot.This Chandranath temple is located on the top of the highest hill here according to the Hindu scriptures, the southern hand of Goddess Sati is believed to be here. This temple has a special pooja every year on Shivaratri or the 10th day of Sevatra. The Hindu Dharma Lombas living in the Sitakunda Chandranath Pahar area organize a large fair every year in the month of Bangla Falgun English February March which is attended by many Saju Sannyasi men and women from the present country. Every day thousands of visitors come to this Chandranath Pahar from different countries including Bangladesh and India. This Chandanath Pahar or Chandranath Temple is located on the top of Chandanath Pahar near Sitakunda in Bangladesh. According to the Rajmala, about 800 years ago, Tripura ruler Dhanamanikya tried to install Chandranath, a descendant of Gauda's famous Adi Sur, on the result path, but failed in his efforts to move the Shiva temple from this temple to his kingdom. According to various information, various information about the history is known here. It is believed that people started living in Sitakunda in the ancient Neolithic age. As far as is known from hs, in the 6th and 7th century, the entire Chittagong region was under the Arakan Kingdom. In the next century, the rulership of the region passed to the hands of Emperor Dharmapala. Then Sonargaon Sultan Fakhruddin Mubarak Shah occupied the region in 1340 AD. Later, in 1538 AD, the last body of the Sur dynasty was defeated by Ghiyas Uddin Md., the last Sultan of the Sultanate of Bengal.
