REACH-S Drone:The Emirates version of Bayraktar TB2 Drone

In a strategic move toward bolstering domestic manufacturing of advanced weapon systems, the Emirates have made substantial strides in consolidating their military-industrial sector under the EDGE Group, a renowned advanced technology and defense organization. The recent Dubai Air Show provided a platform for the spotlight to shine on the Reach-S, a fixed-wing Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle or UCAV, marking a pivotal moment as the UAE Ministry of Defence reportedly placed an order for 100 locally-manufactured REACH-S units. The Reach-S's notable resemblance to the esteemed Turkish-made Bayraktar TB-2, sharing a Rotax 912 propeller engine and similar performance metrics, has understandably sparked interest. However, questions arise regarding the originality of this development: “Is the Reach-S merely imitating the Bayraktar TB-2, or does it bring unique capabilities to the table?”
