You just heard a '72 Telecaster Custom from Fender's Custom Shop. This Closet Classic has the look of an unscathed original, complete with accurate specs from a memorable time in Fender's history. A light weight ash body with belly cut gives this '72 Custom a resonant voice that is dressed in a vintage Dakota Red finish. The lightly tinted Maple neck is shaped to a 1969 "U" profile and has a 9.5" fretboard radius with 21 tall, jumbo frets. The Tele Custom introduces a hotter Fender Wide Range humbucker in the neck position for thicker tone on top of that classic Tele chime when both pickups are selected. To keep all the twang intact, Fender loads a Custom Shop Twisted Tele single coil in the bridge position which has plenty of bite to keep both pickups balanced.
Authentic features include a bullet truss rod, 3 bolt neck and 3 saddle bridge with steel barrel saddles, and a two volume, two tone circuit layout.
