In the state of Pará,
In the state of Pará, in the Amazon, drivers, nicknamed “human bombs”, drive tanker trucks loaded with diesel through the jungle. They must deliver fuel to gold prospectors in just two days. The latter settle illegally and quickly tinker with roads and villages. These clandestine trails endanger the forest and, never maintained, they make the journey particularly perilous. The transporters thus wait to cross the most difficult passages, sometimes surfing in the mud with their enormous vehicle.
