In this video, I go over performing aperture photometry with photutils.aperture, including creating annuluses to determine background noise, searching the STScI database for zero point information, and calculating magnitudes of stars based on the data we collect.

This is the 3rd part in my Astropy series, and it assumes that you've already watched the first two videos in this series - so if you're not sure what's going on in this video, go back and watch my previous 2 Astropy lessons!

- EXAMPLE CODE -
The code used in this video is on my GITHUB repository, saved under the name 'L3_photutils-aperture.ipynb'  https://github.com/laingmic005/apertu...

- ACKNOWLEDGMENT -
This work made use of Astropy (http://www.astropy.org) a community-developed core Python package and an ecosystem of tools and resources for astronomy (Astropy, 2013, 2018, 2022)

This work made use of Photutils, an Astropy package for
detection and photometry of astronomical sources (Bradley et al.
2022).
