Roger is experimenting with the challenge of getting Tulips to come back and flower year after year - it can be a struggle here in Wales because we can get long spells of wet rainy weather in summer when the tulip bulbs are dormant and prefer to be dry. (It is worth remembering that Tulips originated in the middle east and then were cultivated in Turkey where they would have had long dry summers)
Roger is trying 5 steps after the spring flowers have finished to help encourage the Tulip Ballerina bulbs to grow back next year and produce more flowers again.
1 - cut off the dead  flowers / seed pods to make sure that all the energy goes back into the bulb not into the seed pods.
2 - Leave the leaves to catch the sunlight while they are still green
3 - feed with high potash fertilizer
4 - when the leaves turn yellow (probably later in June) cut the stems and leaves off and put the pot and bulbs into 'dry storage' for the summer
5 - bring the pots back outside in autumn (probably October / November here in Wales)
