Detailled tutorial on how to disassemble, service and reassemble the Torpedo Pentasport 5 speed hub. I show you what to do when your hub and shifter wont work properly.
This type of gear hub by Fichtel & Sachs hit the market in 1987 and is based on the concept of the Torpedo 3 speed hub. The difference between both is, that this shifter and hub has two shifter chains, one on each side of the hub. This allows a transmission of the gears by 224%. This way, you can go fast without effort in any gear. In 1990 the production was stopped. Every hub and shifter that gets wrecked contributes to the vanishing of this model.
