Project Fast Fish is based on the restoration and modification of a Plymouth Barracuda.
This video features a walk-through of a 318 to 349 stroker build and represents Part 3 of 3. We look at completing the engine assembly to fire it up for the first time.
We had a spare 318 engine that was once housed in the ‘73 Barracuda. After completing the rotating assembly, we install the heads, lifters, push-rods, timing chain and gears, timing cover, engine oiling system, intake, water pump, fuel pump, and valve covers. Then, we place it on our engine test stand to fire it up for the first time.
A 318 with .030 over and a 3.58” stroke from the 360 crank equals 349 ci.
Our goal is to sell this engine and use the proceeds to help build Project Fast Fish.
