Colleagues Megan McClelland and Shauna Tominey have done an amazing job combining the latest brain research, a wholistic view of self-regulation, and a wide variety of engaging activities, into their new book “STOP, THINK ACT: Integrating Self-Regulation in the Early Childhood Classroom.”

In this week’s broadcast, I aimed to unpack what we mean by self-regulation, highlighting its role in development and success in life, as well as exploring a a number of the strategies shared in their book as a means of intentionally teaching self-regulation.
