Old First Concerts, established in 1970 as a year-round concert series, continues to present an astonishing array of programs performed by outstanding musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. The series has become a fixture on the San Francisco classical music scene with focus on creative programs that frequently include new or rarely heard repertoire.

Utsav Lal, raga & jazz pianist concludes his performance for Old First Concert series on Nov 3rd,2019 with a Raga Bhairavi composition by his guru, Dhrupad maestro  Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar titled "Tu Hi Brahma, Tu Hi Vishnu" , set to a 10 beat cycle called sooltaal . The piece is presented with original improvisations and an introduction inspired by Lal's diverse influences with various other forms of improvised music.
