Tilt were one of Japan's first and longest running glam/sleaze metal acts, running from 1983 through the late 90s, and they've reunited as of 2014. One of the first heavy metal/hard rock acts from the Nagoya region, alongside their friends Crowley, as well as Sniper and Outrage, Tilt made their debut way back in 1984, on a sampler showing off new rock and metal bands in their area, called "From Electric Lady Land '84". They followed up in 1985 with their debut single, "Can You Feel inside", followed quickly by their first extended play, "Stick Into Yours" before releasing their debut album and most famous release, "The Beast in Your Bed".
The late 80s marked a change in Tilt's approach, as the band opted to follow their idols, bands like Motley Crue, in changing musical styles to a sleazier hard rock. While this drastic change harmed many bands, Tilt held strong and released another 5 albums before going on an indefinite hiatus in roughly 1996. Over 18 years later however, the band members decided they had unfinished business and fully revived Tilt, remaining active to date.
Tilt were a very good band in Japan's early heavy metal scene, particularly from their first album and earlier, though that's not to say they couldn't play the glam metal stuff well too. Presented in this video is segments from throughout the band's career, beginning to end, demonstrating the many sounds they possessed. They really were the best of both worlds, fully capable within the realms of both rock and metal music.
