Driving in Jordan from Amman to Aqaba, is it safe? (w/ tips & prices)

Driving in Jordan may seem to be intimidating, especially if you are planning to drive from Amman to Aqaba. However, renting a car in Jordan every easy and affordable and it allows you to visit the country without worrying about transports time schedules etc. Fuel in Jordan is very affordable (compared to Europe) and Jordanians are very friendly so they will be happy to help if you have any problems or are unsure about how to go about it.

My first drive in Jordan was quite stressful and admittedly I was a bit nervous, but it didn't take long for me to become confident with driving in Jordan and I ended up really enjoying it. I would recommend to visit Amman first and perhaps take one of the Amman walking tours offered by your accommodation and then drive to Aqaba via the Desert Highway, the King's Highway or the Jordan Valley Highway.
