How to Test an Ignition Coil on a Small Engine with a 2 wire coil. Testing a 2 wire coil is the same as the procedure when testing a single wire coil except when doing a multimeter test. In this video you will learn the steps to take to diagnose where your no spark or weak spark problem is coming from and then how to pin point what part you need to change (testing the coil with a multimeter).
I had a problem with my twin opposing 18 horse power Briggs and Stratton engine and was not able to find a good video on how to test the 2 wire coil. I will show you how I did it in this video.
You can look up your ohms of resistance for your particular coil online using your engine number.
