Will a Playstation 5 work on a 1440p ultrawide monitor?

Today I’ve received my new
Today I’ve received my new home office monitor, the LG 35WN73A UltraWide Monitor.
What a great monitor this is!
Converting a double screen setup into an ultrawide should have been done sooner 🙃
A little less screen, but not having the bezel in the middle is amazing!
I’m also very satisfied with the curve in the screen. This is something you absolutely need, otherwise the viewing angle of the screen will cause discoloration around the outside edges..
The big test and reason for this video:
Although The Sony PS5 does not support a 1440p output I wanted to check the compatibility with a 1440p screen..
Check this video to see what happens when you connect the two..
Does anybody have a clue what the monitor is doing with the 4K output from the ps5?
What is the true resolution displayed by the monitor?

My advice:
If you need to buy a monitor or TV for gaming, either PS5 or PC, go for a higher resolution (atleast 4k). OLED where possible..
Is the LG 35WN73A a nice desktop monitor for working? Absolutely!!

I’ve payed €539,- on 20/12/20
Please note the backlight glow and smear is caused by my iphone camera. In real life it is not even 5% of what it seems to be in this video. Also my camera lens seems to be dirty, sorry..
