Loenen or Loenen aan de Vecht (2024) is a small village in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Loenen has a population of 4,500. Loenen is founded at the river Vecht (Loosdrechtse Plassen) and has some interesting places like the white Drawbridge, the Dutch Reformed Church and the windmill De Hoop (The Hope). Castle Kronenburg was originally built next to village but destroyed in an attack in 1296 and again in 1710 by the French army. The castle was eventually demolished in 1837.
